Maintenance SpecialistJoin the Norfolk Iron & Metal maintenance team and play a key role in keeping our manufacturing equipment operating safely and efficiently. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on a variety of industrial equipment.Responsibilities include:Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial machinery, forklifts, overhead cranes, conveyors, and production equipment.Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues to minimize equipment downtime.Inspect, test, repair, and maintain manufacturing equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.Complete preventive maintenance schedules and accurately document repairs using the company's maintenance ticket tracking system.Identify equipment deficiencies and recommend repairs or improvements to increase reliability and productivity.Maintain a safe work environment by following all company safety procedures and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).Perform general facility maintenance and repairs as needed.Complete all maintenance records, inspections, and required documentation accurately and on time.Perform other duties as assigned to support business operations.Required Qualifications:Minimum one year of hands-on maintenance experience working with industrial manufacturing equipment, heavy machinery, agricultural equipment, or similar production machinery.Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and repair industrial equipment.Experience performing preventive maintenance in a manufacturing or industrial environment.Ability to safely operate hand and power tools and work around heavy equipment.Willingness to work overtime as needed.Motivated, dependable, and committed to workplace safety.Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.Preferred Qualifications:Experience operating and maintaining overhead cranes and industrial forklifts.Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, conveyor, or electrical systems.Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) or maintenance work order software.Benefits and Compensation:Two weeks of PTO during your first yearCompany-paid employee medical insuranceDental and vision insurance401(k) with company matchMonthly bonus opportunitiesEducation assistanceStable, year-round employment with opportunities for advancement$23.00 - $29.00 an hour DOEOpportunity for Monthly Bonus'sThe duties and responsibilities listed above are not all-inclusive.
