Maintenance PlannerThe primary responsibility of this position is for planning, scheduling and coordinating all plannable maintenance work performed on the worksite, in addition to keeping proper maintenance records and files essential to meaningful analysis and reporting of maintenance related matters.ResponsibilitiesDaily review maintenance time sheets and compare completed work orders and PMs to time sheets, making sure numbers and time match, and reschedule any work orders and PMs not completedReview work orders for any parts that need orderingReview completed PMs and make sure that appropriate work orders are writtenWrite any work orders as neededPlan and schedule maintenance work orders and PMs daily in order of highest priority, prioritizing any safety work order that proposes an immediate safety hazardMake sure parts are in stock for any scheduled workCreate purchase requisitions and order part numbers for non-stock itemsUpdate BOM list bi-weeklyTrack problem areas in the mill by reviewing function locations that have repetitive work ordersTrack cylinder, electric motor and pump failures through open work orders to completionSchedule outside contractors for maintenance or repair services as neededAttend and participate in safety meetingsCommunicate daily with Maintenance Supervisor concerning maintenance issues and any repetitive problemsReview all downtime reports dailyParticipate in RCFA team activities to identify and implement solutions to failuresInterface with Predictive Maintenance Technicians daily to ensure all equipment condition monitoring data indicating potential problems is incorporated into planned maintenance and failures are preventedTrack problem areas in the mill by reviewing function locations that have repetitive works orders writtenMaintenance Clerk backup as needed to include completing PMs and work orders, printing PMs, completing maintenance time and payrollLearn to print safety work order reports, PM reports, and failure and cost reportsHelp refine PMs as neededSpecial projects and other duties as assignedRequirementsMinimum 5 years Maintenance experience in a heavy industrial environmentCMMS experienceHigh School Diploma or equivalentMicrosoft Office experience2+ years Maintenance Planner experience including responsibility for planning daily maintenance and scheduled outages preferredGood written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate across different levels at the millsWhat Will Make You Stand OutExperience in wood products/lumber industry10+ years millwright experience preferredStrong analytical skillsLogical reasoningProject managementTeamworkExceptional written and verbal skillsStrategic thinkingProblem solving skillsExperience with managing multiple projectsStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively on all levelsFlexibility and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environmentCompensation and BenefitsBenefits starting Day 1Competitive starting payOn-the-job trainingA culture that strongly believes in promoting from withinMedicalDentalVision401k with company matching & retirement contributionEmployee Stock Purchase planLife InsuranceDisability InsurancePaid vacations and holidaysEmployee Assistance ProgramWest Fraser is a diversified wood products company producing lumber, OSB, LVL, MDF, plywood, pulp, newsprint, wood chips, and energy with over 60 facilities in Canada, the United States, and Europe.
