Maintenance ManagerGreif is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance function at our Reno facility. This role is responsible for overseeing the repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment, building systems, and facility infrastructure to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations.The Maintenance Manager provides leadership for maintenance personnel, preventive maintenance programs, equipment reliability initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts. Plastics manufacturing experience is highly preferred, with direct blow molding maintenance and leadership experience strongly desired.What You'll DoAs Maintenance Manager, you will provide leadership and direction for maintenance operations while working closely with Production, Engineering, Safety, and Plant Leadership teams to improve equipment reliability and manufacturing performance.You will oversee maintenance planning and execution, develop preventive maintenance strategies, prioritize repair activities, and ensure maintenance resources are effectively utilized to support production and facility goals.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain overall responsibility for the continuous and efficient operation of the maintenance team within the facility.Lead and manage maintenance personnel responsible for the repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment, facility systems, and infrastructure.Manage maintenance colleagues who troubleshoot equipment issues to ensure equipment downtime does not lead to operational inefficiencies or catastrophic failures.Review daily productivity reports and conduct routine inspections to identify mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs and machine improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing concepts, techniques, and processes.Plan, prioritize, and schedule work orders and maintenance activities to minimize production downtime and operational disruptions.Troubleshoot and diagnose complex equipment problems and implement solutions that improve equipment availability, capability, and yield.Procure replacement tools, spare parts, and maintenance materials necessary to support manufacturing operations.Oversee in-house equipment design modifications, fabrication, installation activities, and employee training related to equipment operation and maintenance.Implement maintenance strategies and departmental priorities in alignment with company objectives and operational goals.Ensure compliance with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), machine guarding, safety systems, and safe work practices.Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the maintenance organization.Communicate departmental goals and expectations while consistently applying company policies and procedures.Recruit, train, coach, and develop maintenance personnel while fostering positive employee relations.Conduct performance evaluations, recommend compensation actions, and administer corrective action when necessary.Partner with Operations, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to support production goals and improve equipment performance.Perform other duties as assigned.What We're Looking ForBachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, Maintenance Management, or a related field; equivalent experience may also be considered.Typically 8-12 years of maintenance, manufacturing, or industrial operations experience, including leadership responsibilities.Previous experience leading maintenance teams within a manufacturing or industrial environment.Plastics manufacturing experience is highly preferred.Direct blow molding maintenance and leadership experience strongly desired.Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and managing preventive maintenance programs.Experience managing maintenance planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and reliability improvement initiatives.Strong commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence.Knowledge and SkillsComprehensive knowledge and understanding of manufacturing operations and maintenance concepts, principles, and best practices.Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical/electronic, instrumentation, and computer-based systems.Strong understanding of plastics manufacturing processes, blow molding equipment, auxiliary systems, material handling systems, and related production technologies preferred.Experience assembling, disassembling, repairing, and maintaining industrial manufacturing equipment.Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical problems.Excellent project management, planning, and organizational skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.Demonstrated leadership ability with experience developing, coaching, and managing teams.Ability to effectively prioritize multiple initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Commitment to continuous improvement, employee development, and operational excellence.Why This Role MattersThis role has a direct impact on equipment reliability, facility performance, employee safety, and overall manufacturing productivity. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between $105,000.00 to $125,000.00 annually. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location.
