Maintenance ManagerSupervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in maintaining, installing, and performing preventative maintenance on a variety of machines to manufacture fencing by performing the following duties. Directly supervises employees in the Sawmill. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. This position reports to the Mill Operations Manager.Responsibilities include:The maintenance manager is responsible for the management and coordination of all mechanical, filing, electrical and clean-up work in the facilityEnsure the safety of all team members and contractors working in the plant or department by driving continuous improvement, including supporting all corporate safety programs, developing SOPs, identifying and eliminating hazards, and enforcing all safety rules and regulationsDevelop, manage, and lead preventive and predictive maintenance programs and inventory tracking proceduresWork to ensure the mill can meet priority production goals through the supervision of the maintenance crew, and maintenance project managementHelps identify and plan modifications that will improve the efficiency and safety of the millInterfaces with others in the organization to ensure deadlines are metDevelop and drive adherence to preventative maintenance proceduresSupervise and coordinate all mechanical and electrical machinery troubleshooting, repair, and installationUnderstand the needs of the production team and coordinate priorities for the delivery of corrective maintenanceFollow up on recurring downtime issues and work to eliminate themMonitor and maintain mechanical spare parts and supply inventoryPartner with purchasing to ensure that correct parts and services are purchased and received in a timely manner, at the most competitive price from our vendorsHelp advance new components and technology into our operationsInspect equipment for potential problems. Investigate and lead solution initiativesImplement and maintain continuous improvement throughout our organizationMaintain training requirements and records for millwrights, electricians, and other craftspeopleOther duties as assignedRequirements include:Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to identify the root cause of problems and effectively initiate immediate corrective action5+ years experience maintaining mechanical and/or electrical industrial systems preferred3 or more years of directly related maintenance management experience, or any combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key duties of this positionKnowledge of plant equipment, operations, predictive/preventative maintenance systems, and effective project management practicesStrong MS Office skills, with at least Intermediate Excel skills.Self-disciplined with attention to detailMust have strong organizational and analytical skillsMust be able to work effectively in a teamMinimum age of 18Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writingThis position is classified as "safety-sensitive," meaning that an accident in this role could result in loss of life, serious bodily injury, or significant damage to property or the environment, as such candidates will be subject to comprehensive pre-employment drug screening, inclusive of marijuana (THC).Work Environment & Physical Demands include:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); work in high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration.The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee will need to lift or carry 25 pounds or more frequently and may, at times, be required to lift/move up to 100 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.Position Type/Travel/Schedule includes:This position is exempt per FLSA guidelines and not eligible for overtime. A typical schedule requires the ability to work 40 hours a week.
