Maintenance Manager – bp Pulse US
As we built out our network, delivering a safe, reliable, and customer‑centric charging experience is paramount. The Maintenance Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring our network operates at peak performance, with minimal downtime and maximum customer satisfaction. This role is responsible for building and leading a world‑class maintenance function that spans hardware, software, site infrastructure, and vendor performance. It requires strategic vision, operational rigor, and a deep understanding of retail asset maintenance in a high‑growth, technology‑enabled environment.
Key Accountabilities
- Team Leadership & Development: Build and lead a high‑performing maintenance team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Maintenance Strategy & Execution: Design and implement a comprehensive maintenance strategy covering hardware, software, spares, and site infrastructure. Ensure alignment with bp Pulse’s growth trajectory and customer experience goals.
- Reliability & Performance Management: Own EV asset reliability across North America. Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to drive uptime, resolve recurring issues, and feed insights into engineering, product, and procurement loops.
- Vendor Oversight & Field Operations: Manage third‑party service providers and OEMs to deliver maintenance and repair services. Ensure SLAs are met and field operations are executed safely and efficiently.
- Budgeting & Commercial Planning: Contribute to annual REVEX/OPEX planning. Develop commercial models for maintenance programs and lifetime ownership.
- Site Readiness & Launch Support: Partner with construction and land partners to ensure new sites are launched with robust maintenance protocols and safety standards.
- Safety & Risk Management: Lead safety inspections and risk mitigation efforts, including Arc Flash, grounding checks, and emergency response protocols.
- Global Collaboration: Represent the US in bp’s Global Operations Excellence forum, sharing best practices and aligning on global standards.
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience developing and scaling maintenance programs in a retail or infrastructure‑heavy environment.
- Strong grasp of reliability engineering principles and maintenance strategies (e.g., NFPA 70B, ANSI/NETA standards).
- Demonstrated ability to manage external contracts and vendor performance.
- Safety leadership in field operations, with a proactive approach to risk management.
- Excellent communication skills—able to convey technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and asset management platforms (e.g., MaintainX, Salesforce).
- Strategic thinker with a bias for action and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Compensation
Base salary is estimated at $134,000–$220,000 annually.

It offers paid vacation ranging from 120–240 hours per year for full‑time employees (60–240 hours for part‑time), 9 paid holidays, and 2 personal‑choice holidays.
