Maintenance Electrician

Job Description
Bard Manufacturing Company, Inc. currently has an opening for a Maintenance Electrician at our facility in Bryan, OH.

Scope and Responsibilities :
The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for supporting the electrical functionality of machinery, equipment, and the building. Assists in troubleshooting, setting up, changing over, and tearing down machinery and equipment to maintain optimum efficiency in the plant.
Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Uses hand tools, power tools, hoists, mobile equipment and specialty tools to troubleshoot, set up, changeover, and tear down machinery and equipment.
• Repairs or replaces worn or defective parts.
• Adjusts functional parts for performance and clearances.
• Tests equipment performance.
• Installs power wiring and conduit for newly installed equipment.
• Connects and tests power wires.
• Diagnoses failed equipment such as motors, wiring, PLC, I/O modules, and power supplies.
• Repairs and replaces failed electrical equipment such as motors, wiring, PLC modules, and power supplies.
• Uses meters and electrical test equipment to troubleshoot problems.
• Troubleshoots and programs AC and DC drive systems.
• Replaces faulty components such as boards and cables.
• Diagnoses and corrects mechanical problems involving gears, chain and belt drives, and presses.
• Performs preventative maintenance on machines in compliance with ISO regulations..
• Performs work in a safe and efficient manner, following all company safety rules and procedures
• Maintains good housekeeping levels in the Maintenance department/work area.
• Performs activities in accordance with the procedures outlined in the CMMS system.
• Documenting and submitting workorder completion as required.
• Open communication with team members and supervisor.
• All other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills
Education/Experience Requirements :
The successful candidate will possess the following skills/abilities:

• Associate's degree in Industrial Electricity or equivalent certification program; plus 5+ years experience in manufacturing and facilities maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Journeyman certification preferred
• Ability to read wiring schematics and wiring diagrams and determine material and replacement needs
• Ability to size and wire electrical circuits in accordance with the NEC and/or manufacturer's specification.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Knowledge of power transmissions and components.
• Knowledge of turret and punching presses along with bending cells preferred, willingness to learn is required.
• Ability to define problems by collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
• Demonstrated skills with power tools and welding equipment
• Hands on experience with trouble shooting and repair of hydraulic systems, electrical/electronic systems, pneumatics
• PC Skills
• Experience with CMMS systems (strongly preferred)

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to vibration. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
• The manufacturing environment may experience high ambient temperatures during summer months, and employees should be prepared to work in warm to hot conditions.
