This role ensures that the facility, equipment, systems, and grounds are maintained in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations while providing a safe and comfortable environment for residents and staff.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, organize, implement, and oversee all maintenance department operationsDevelop and maintain maintenance policies, procedures, and schedulesCoordinate maintenance services with nursing, dietary, activities, housekeeping, and other departmentsSupervise maintenance staff and ensure department goals are metConduct daily rounds to monitor facility conditions and staff performanceInspect storage rooms, utility areas, equipment, and facility systems regularlyOversee preventive maintenance programs and repair schedulesEnsure outside vendors and contractors complete work according to contracts and work ordersParticipate in surveys, inspections, and regulatory reviewsDevelop and implement corrective action plans for identified deficienciesOversee fire safety, life safety, emergency preparedness, and environmental safety programsEnsure compliance with OSHA standards, infection control practices, and safety regulationsMaintain and monitor MSDS/SDS documentation and hazardous chemical storageTrain department staff on safety procedures and proper equipment useMonitor department expenses and assist with budgeting and cost controlMaintain accurate maintenance records, inspections, and departmental reportsEnsure medical waste and hazardous materials are handled and disposed of properlyRespond to facility emergencies and coordinate maintenance support as neededProtect the confidentiality of resident information and maintain HIPAA complianceSupervisory ResponsibilitiesDirect supervision and management of Maintenance Department personnelStaff coaching, scheduling, training, and performance managementEvaluation of maintenance team performance and department operationsQualificationsEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in maintenance, plant operations, or a related fieldHealthcare, skilled nursing, or long-term care maintenance experience preferredExperience managing maintenance budgets, schedules, and personnelTechnical KnowledgeKnowledge of boilers, generators, compressors, and facility mechanical systemsKnowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building maintenance systemsAbility to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawingsUnderstanding of building codes, safety regulations, and life safety requirementsFamiliarity with infection control and environmental safety standards in healthcare settingsSkills & AbilitiesStrong leadership and organizational skillsExcellent problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesAbility to prioritize multiple projects and responsibilitiesStrong communication and team-building skillsAbility to respond effectively during emergenciesWe are an equal opportunity employer.
