Maintenance Director

Qualifications

• High school graduate. Previous training and experience in basic principles of mechanics, electricity, plumbing, hardware, and landscaping preferred.
• Must be mechanically inclined and have the ability to operate common machines, hand tools, and equipment.
• Minimum two years experience in an assisted living community or a similar position.
• Ability to read, write, and follow written directions.
• Experience in dealing with elderly and their needs and requests.
• Supervisory experience required.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Must be well organized with time, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
• Must possess consistent initiative, good judgment, and leadership ability.

Job Purpose

• To insure the overall care of the community maintenance, housekeeping, and laundry programs.

Essential Functions

• Assure the community and grounds are repaired and maintained in proper working order.

Job Requirements

• This position requires standing, walking, sitting, stooping, bending, moderate lifting and carrying, and activities throughout the day.
• Must have good vision, hearing, and verbal communication skills to communicate with residents, families, co-workers, and visitors.
• Must have good physical and mental health.
• Must be neat and clean in appearance.
