Maintenance Director

REPORTS TO: Administrator

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible to plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate maintenance program and services, groundsmaintenance and upkeep. Direct or perform duties concerned with plumbing, painting, carpentry,mechanical, heating, cooling, water systems and minor electrical. Monitor and supervises all servicecontracts or other outside contract work. Directs or performs duties concerned with maintenance ofgrounds, parking lots, driveways, sidewalks, security etc. Directs or performs duties related totransportation, including maintenance of vehicles, and other campus equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to communicate effectively with oral and written instructions in English.
• Ability to identify maintenance problems, plan and follow through to their solution in a timely manner.
• In depth understanding of physical plant maintenance requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Use construction equipment and hand tools safely and appropriately.
• Direct or perform duties concemed with plumbing, painting, carpentry, mechanical, heating, cooling, water systems and minor electrical.
• Monitor and supervises all service contracts or other outside contract work.
• Directs or perforrns duties related to transportation, including maintenance of vehicles, and other campus equipment.
• Know and participate in the facility emergency preparedness plan.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

WORK SCHEDULE:

As assigned; including some weekends, holidays and evening. On Call 24 Hours. Non-Exempt Position

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Have the ability to safely perform movements such as pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling,reaching and lifting in excess of 150 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations. Manual dexterity required performing tasks including climbing ladders and crawling in confined spaces toperform work. This may involve the ability to work in some extreme and uncomfortable position,suchas hot and cold weather or inclement weather.
