Maintenance & Automation Technician – Travel RequiredStarting Location: Troy, MI Shifts: Seeking for all shifts - 1st, 2nd, 3rdPosition OverviewWe are seeking Maintenance & Automation Technicians for a travel-based position. This role starts in Troy, MI and requires candidates to be open to travel and possible relocation for the duration of the assignment. All three shifts are available.

This is a hands-on technical role supporting production by maintaining and troubleshooting automated systems including robotic welding cells and mechanical and electrical equipment. The ideal candidate combines mechanical expertise with electrical and robotic programming knowledge to ensure optimal equipment performance and production efficiency.What to ExpectPosition starts in Troy, MI with training prior to deploymentCandidates must be open to travel and possible relocationAll three shifts are available - 1st, 2nd, and 3rdKey ResponsibilitiesMaintenancePerform scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance and repairs on production equipment including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and robotic systemsMonitor quality, safety, and efficiency standards on the production floorEnsure compliance with safety protocols and plant housekeeping standardsManage incident reporting and root cause analysis for equipment-related issuesAutomation & RoboticsTroubleshoot, repair, and program robotic systems — primarily Kawasaki with some ABBModify robot programs — teach points, offsets, move creation — and perform TCP verificationExecute minor fixture adjustments and shimmingSupport MIG, projection, and resistance weld process adjustments under engineer directionTechnicalUse schematics to troubleshoot and repair control systems, drives, motors, sensors, I/O blocks, and valve stacksTroubleshoot HMI systems, PLCs (ladder logic), and other control componentsConduct basic to intermediate offline robot programming (RoboCAD, RobotStudio)Perform electrical wiring and installation tasks including circuit breaker and panel wiringRequirementsMust be open to travel and relocation for the duration of the assignmentHigh school diploma or GED required;Technical associate degree or certifications in mechatronics, industrial maintenance, or automation preferredMinimum of 1 year of experience in Industrial MaintenanceKawasaki / ABB experience preferredKnowledge of robotics, industrial electrical systems, PLCs, and welding technologiesAbility to read and interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints and schematicsStrong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and attention to detailAbility to obtain forklift and aerial platform certificationsMust be able to wear required PPE including steel-toe boots and hard hats
