Role Summary
Serve as primary technical lead responsible for reverse engineering current macros and convert this to Rocket terminal emulator macros / IBM PCOMM-based automation solutions while preserving business functionality, performance, and output integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Macro Analysis and Conversion
- Analyze Rocket macro scripts and workflows.
- Reverse engineer business logic and process dependencies.
- Convert Rocket macros using:
- VBA
- VBScript
- PowerShell
- PCOMM HACL Automation
- EHLLAPI Automation
- COM Automation Solutions
Mainframe Automation Development
- Automate:
- Host navigation
- Screen recognition
- Protected/unprotected fields
- Function key processing
- File transfers
- Multi-session operations
- Batch processing
Reliability Engineering
- Replace hard-coded delays with:
- Screen-ready checks
- Cursor-position validation
- Host synchronization techniques
- Field readiness validation
- Implement:
- Logging
- Error handling
- Retry mechanisms
- Recovery workflows
Documentation
- Create design documentation.
- Generate macro mapping documents.
- Support operational runbook development.
