The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of mainframe environments, strong scripting abilities, and hands-on experience with cloud databases and observability tools.Required SkillsStrong, hands-on experience in writing, debugging, and optimizing REC scripts for data extraction and system automation.Proficient in developing, modifying, and troubleshooting JCL for batch processing, utility execution, and data management on mainframe systems.In-depth knowledge of mainframe operating systems (z/OS) and database management systems (e.g., DB2, IMS).Hands-on experience with Cassandra for distributed NoSQL database administration.Experience in building and maintaining enterprise-level dashboards using tools such as Grafana and Splunk.Familiarity with Data Warehousing Solutions (DWS) and their implementation in cloud environments.Understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid cloud-mainframe environments.ResponsibilitiesLead the design, development, and optimization of data extraction processes from mainframe systems. This includes extensive use of COBOL, REC scripting and JCL queries to efficiently retrieveAdminister, monitor, and maintain mainframe databases (e.g., DB2, IMS) while also providing expertise in the implementation and management of cloud databases, Cassandra and DWS.Collaborate with the Observability team to integrate mainframe data sources into modern observability platforms.
This includes contributing to the design and development of interactive dashboards using tools like Grafana and Splunk for comprehensive data visibility and operational insights.Proactively monitor and tune database performance across both mainframe and cloud environments, ensuring optimal efficiency and reliability for data extraction and access.Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements across all database environments.
