MacOS Automation EngineerLocation: Onsite 5 days a week to Columbus, OHRate: $75-$80/hour C2C OR $70/hr W2.Visa: All Visa ok!Position Overview:Our client is seeking a macOS Software Packaging and Automation Engineer to design, build, and operationalize an automated macOS application packaging and distribution capability. This role is focused on Phase 1 delivery, with immediate work beginning on recipe development for high volume applications using AutoPkg. The engineer will also extend the platform with Python based custom processors to integrate firm security scanning, metadata tagging, and compliance gates.Responsibilities:Build and maintain macOS installer packages and distribution ready artifacts, including pkg and dmg formats, with proper code signing and notarization workflowsAuthor, test, and maintain AutoPkg recipes using the recipe driven, processor based model, including chaining processors and leveraging community processor ecosystemsDevelop custom AutoPkg processors in Python to support firm specific requirements such as internal security scanning, metadata tagging, and compliance gate integrationCreate deterministic and auditable build outputs, with clear versioning, change history, and traceability for packaging inputs and artifactsPartner with engineering, security, and application owners to validate packaging standards, define guardrails, and establish repeatable release workflowsContribute to documentation, runbooks, and operational readiness to enable sustainable day to day execution and knowledge transferApply AI assisted development practices where appropriate to accelerate delivery while maintaining quality, security, and auditabilityQualifications:RequiredDeep hands on experience with macOS installer formats including pkg and dmg, code signing, and notarization workflowsStrong understanding of how macOS software distribution differs from Windows, including packaging constraints and deployment considerationsWorking knowledge of AutoPkg, including authoring and maintaining recipes, chaining processors, and using processor based packaging modelsProficiency in Python development, including building maintainable modules and creating integrations that support automation and compliance needsStrong Git and GitHub workflow discipline, including branching strategies, pull requests, code review participation, and maintaining auditable artifact historiesAbility to communicate clearly with technical and non technical stakeholders and to operate effectively in a delivery focused environmentPreferredExperience designing automation pipelines that integrate packaging, security scanning, compliance validation, and artifact promotionFamiliarity with Workspace ONE and Omnissa Intelligence concepts related to application distribution and telemetryAI or agentic development proficiency, especially for engineering productivity and automated workflow orchestrationExperience with modern web frameworks and API interface design to support later phase portal enablementTools and Technologies:macOS packaging tools and workflows including code signing and notarizationAutoPkg, recipes, processors, and community processor ecosystemPython
