Machinist Vertical MillFREMONT, CA 94538As a CNC Vertical Mill Machinist 1, you will set-up and run repeat or proven part(s) with simple to intermediate complexity with direction from area Lead or Supervisor.Responsible for utilizing shop paper procedure including updates, signatures and stamps, counting quantities, labeling and non-conformance related activitiesRead blueprints, tooling instructions, and standard charts for specificationsProvide technical assistance, guidance, and instruction to operators and lower level machinists as requiredEnsure an accurate router accompanies all work ordersInspect and measure parts to maintain statistical process controls chartsAssist Lead person as neededStart and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls as needed. Alert Lead or Supervisor to any issue(s) on job or machine.Able to recognize machine deviation versus cutter or work holding problems and alerts lead or supervisorMeet job standard times consistently and communicated to lead or supervisor when notMonitor and replace cutting tools as needed in machines and equipmentTest operation of tool to ensure proper function and performanceEnsure company procedures and "best machine practices" are being followed and are in place at all timesComply with applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations, Company policy and accepted safe work practicesPerform additional related duties as assignedWORKING ENVIRONMENT OF THE JOB:High noise levels from operating machinesPhysical hazards from moving equipment and machine partsBreathing fumes, dust, and mistSkin exposure to oils and cutting fluidsRequirements:Enrolled in or Completion of Machine Tool Technology program preferred.
