MachinistExperienced Machinist Opportunity ANDRITZ is seeking an experienced Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This hands-on position is ideal for someone skilled in setting up and operating conventional and CNC machines, interpreting blueprints, and producing precision parts within strict tolerances. If you have at least three years of machining experience or relevant machinist education and take pride in safety, accuracy, quality, and craftsmanship, we encourage you to apply.Brief Description Manufacture products/parts that are of high quality and within tolerances.

Set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and numerical control (CNC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts.Key ResponsibilitiesStudy blueprints, sketches, drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece and setup requirementsMeasure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machiningSelect, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jib borers, grinders, and shapersSet controls to regulate machining factors such as speeds, feeds, coolant flow, and depth of cut to overcome machining variancesOccasionally edit computerized machine control mediaStart and observe machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls or control media as requiredVerify conformance of finished work piece to specificationsUse hand tools to complete set-upsSet up and operate machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control dataConfer with production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problemsAssist and train other machinistsKeep area clean and organizedEmbody, demonstrate, and reinforce the #1ANDRITZway core values and behaviors and promote a positive work environment.Job Specific CompetenciesSafety Quality Overall Job Performance Teamwork Attendance/ConductQualifications (Required)3+ years of prior machinist experience or machinist educationAdequate mathematical ability when calculating material needsStrong ability to maintain strict tolerances of manufactured partsGood communication and organizational skills with a willingness to work with othersGood understanding of production in a manufacturing facilityAbility to read and interpret blueprints and drawings to manufacture productKnowledge of part manufacturingBasic understanding of speeds and feeds required for various machining operations and cutting toolsAbility to use material handling equipment such as hand truck, pallet jack, or jib craneKnowledge of safety requirements and PPEAbility to interact with all levels of personnel within the company, professionally, and in a positive mannerMajority of work is performed in an indoor manufacturing shop; noise level is usually moderate to high; exposure to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, forklifts, and electricity Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; must have good close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus; ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, stoop, twist, crouch, walk, use hands and arms to reach for and carry objects, climb a ladder, speak and hearWhat We OfferCompetitive hourly payMedical, dental, and vision insurance beginning on your date of hire401(k) with company matchPaid time off and paid holidaysCompany-paid life and disability insuranceLong-term career growth opportunitiesA supportive, safety-focused team environmentAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or disability.
