MachinistMachinists are responsible for setting up and operating a variety of manual and CNC machine tools to produce precision metal parts that meet customer requirements. The machinist will utilize knowledge of machining techniques, tooling, speeds & feeds, and metallurgy to perform their tasks. Position could include CNC or controller based programming.Duties and ResponsibilitiesKeeping machines and work areas cleanTopping off any oils & coolant tanksReturn tooling when not in useLayout major boundaries for 1st pieceLook for areas to improve setup rigidity and shorten setup times on multiple partsChange speeds and feeds for optimal use of toolsMeasure and inspect any and all features you have affectedLook ahead to gather and setup tools that will be needed for the next operationStudy drawings & programs to improve next setup efficiencyDeburr all parts and features you machine while another part is running if possibleCleaning your parts and storing to prevent damageMaintaining material ID through our tagging systemReturning programs & special tooling when job is finishedMaintaining an accurate shift change logOther duties as assignedRequirementsFormal Education and Experience RequirementsAssociates degree in a technical field preferred3 plus years of relevant experienceHighschool diplomaSkills and AbilitiesStrong Math skillsProblem Solving skillsBlueprint readingKnowledge of GD&TMotivated, quick start, positive attitudeAbility to effectively communicate issues in a timely mannerBasic computer skillsAbility to work in a team environment and independentlyStrong organizational skillsKnowledge of G-CodeAbility to lift up to 50 lbsInternal and External Communication ExpectationsColleaguesSupervisorsCustomersVendorsSenior ManagementThis position description is subject to change.
