As a Machinist A, you will...Primary Responsibilities:Set up, operate, and monitor CNC mills, lathes, and other machining equipment to produce valve components to required specificationsInterpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure proper machine operation and part accuracy.Adjust machine settings and offsets as neededPerform routine checks using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges) to ensure parts meet tolerances and print standardsPerform basic operator care and troubleshoot CNC machines to minimize downtimeReport any mechanical or operational issues to the supervisor or team leadLoad and unload raw materials and finished parts from machinesMaintain accurate production and inspection records, including job travelers and check sheetsChange out machine tools, inserts, and other componentsFollow machine shop safety policies and adhere to lockout/tagout proceduresWork safely in the manufacturing production environmentFollow detailed verbal/written assembly instructions, processes, and proceduresProperly fill out basic forms, reports, and label products correctly that pertain to job dutiesCommunicate and work effectively with othersProvide hands-on and verbal job function training to coworkers as neededReport problems with quality, processes, equipment and materials to the Production Supervisor or member of managementRecord daily all work performed and correct distribution of work timeUse software systems as needed to complete job dutiesContribute to culture of high-quality productsMaintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functionsPerform other job-related duties as directed by supervisor per CBA and company policiesJob Expectations:Ability to work with your handsAbility to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)Ability to lift and/or move 25 pounds, and up to 50 poundsAbility to work in extreme temperatures (hot/cold)Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach at arm's length, stoop, kneel, and crouchAbility to use power tools, air tools, and other vibratory toolsAbility to work around hot heavy machineryAbility to work from a standing position for extended periods of timeAbility to move materials with a powered vehicle (forklift)Repetitive standing, bending, turning, and twisting for extended periods of timeSpecific vision requirements include close vision and color visionMust be able to pass a basic aptitude test, physical, with drug/alcohol test and background screenCandidates must be available to work all shifts including possible mandatory overtime on weekendsPrevious experience with CNC or manual machines/manufacturing settingOther Compensation & Benefits:Mueller offers an excellent salary and benefits package.
