Machinist Operations SupervisorThe successful Machinist Operations Supervisor directs and coordinates activities of production department(s) in processing materials or manufacturing products in industrial organization. We offer an entrepreneurial environment that promotes a culture of innovation, growth, and inclusion.What You'll DoReviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.Ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.Promotes safety, ensures safety policies are being followed and reporting incidents immediately to the Safety Manager and into the safety portalDevelop or revise standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.What You'll NeedDegree in Mechanical Engineering a plus but not required5+ years of experience in Industrial Manufacturing/RepairSelf-motivation to identify, analyze and independently work to complete taskDemonstrated proficiency in supporting corporate interest from remote site locations and ability to communicate and exercise very positive people skills.Converting metric and standard measurementsAbility to set up and operate both CNC and manual machinery for use in metal working applicationsInterpret assembly and blueprint drawingsKnowledge of weldingCompetitive compensation, medical/dental/vision coverage, paid vacation, paid holiday time, 401k with a company match, training, a tuition reimbursement program and more!SMS group is the leading partner in the world of metals.
