MachinistPay Rate: $34.51 per hour Location: Los Angeles, CA Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 1:45PM-11:45PMResponsibilities:Setup complex parts and operate machines without supervision.Interpret plans, work orders, blueprints, or drawings; full understanding of GD&T.Inspect parts for quality and appropriate tolerance using tools such as micrometers, calipers, air gauges, and comparators.Finish parts with different materials to close tolerance without supervision.Examine surface of workpiece for defects before starting work.Meet production and quality requirements at all times; maintain a clean work area.Modify machining feed and speeds on multiple material types and select tooling, gauges as required.Use measuring tools, air gauges, micrometers, and other inspection tools to verify part quality.Replace worn tools, inspect parts, and adjust tool offsets as needed.Be a team player and follow all safety rules and regulations.Drive continuous process improvements.Requirements:High School Diploma required from an accredited institution.Minimum 7 years of experience in machining, honing, or lapping parts in a manufacturing environment.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds often.Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.Position requires use of information or access to hardware subject to ITAR regulations; applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by ITAR.Only candidates residing within the immediate geographical area (50 miles of 90039) will be considered.Preferred Skills:Aerospace experience preferred.8 plus years of experience in machining, honing, or lapping parts in a manufacturing environment.Involvement in successful process definition and re-engineering.Experience in employee involvement in multi-discipline teaming.Proficiency with computer-based methods and tools.Familiarity/experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement and Six Sigma methodology.
