Machining SpecialistThe successful candidate will be responsible for:Setup and operation of manual and/or CNC machining equipment including DMG-Mori NT4300Ability to program at the machine for CNC equipmentMachining of components to meet print dimensions and tolerancesParts measurement using tools such as, but not limited to:Outside micrometerInside micrometerDepth micrometerDigital, dial and vernier calipersScalesMaintaining an organized and safe work environment and help to drive improvements in the work center that will lead to increases in safety and efficiencyAccurately completing all paperwork associated with tasks being performedKeeping up to date with all required trainingsWorking on a variety of parts and processes across multiple machinesRelying on experience and judgement to complete assignmentsDuties and tasks can reflect substantial complexity and may require ingenuity within the area of expertiseMay train lower-level employeesMay be called upon to check the work of lower-level employeesMay be designated as a manufacturing lead employeeRequired knowledge, skills and abilities:Typically, greater than 10 years' experience doing similar workWorking knowledge of DMG-Mori NT series machinesUnderstands and buys into a zero-accident safety culture expectationStrong shop math skills including arithmetic, conversion of fractions to decimals, basic trigonometryAbility to read and interpret mechanical/production drawings including tolerancingFor CNC machines, a strong understanding of G-code and / or conversational programmingKnowledge of fixturing and safe / effective work holdingFirm understanding of turning and milling insert geometries and gradesUnderstanding of cut conditions including appropriate feeds, speeds and depths of cut, heat inputs and work hardeningPreferred experience/skills:Operation and setup of DMG-Mori NT4300 with MAPPS/Celos controlExperience working with cast materialsPrevious experience machining stainless alloys and super alloysPrevious experience with 5s and lean manufacturing principles
