Machinist IVThe Machinist IV will work from drawings and/or written instructions, set up and operate a variety of manual or CNC machinery and equipment to produce precision parts.Major Areas of AccountabilityOperates multiple machines at multiple work centers and performs specific machinist functions. Must be able to set up and troubleshoot machines at multiple work centers. Ability to prove out new part programs for production. Collaborate with programming/engineering on blueprints and programs. Provides instruction, training and leadership to employees in other positions within the Machine Shop.
Verifies conformance of finished work to ensure compliance to tolerance and company specifications. Identifies dull or worn inserts or tools and makes changes as necessary. Makes tool offsets as required. Completes preventative maintenance as required. Regularly uses microscope and other high end measuring equipment to view and inspect parts.
