We to work with our customers, market and product to maximize our results.Position Summary: The machinist is a key member of the manufacturing team in a high mix, lower volume environment, reporting to the Operations Supervisor. Airtomic is an FAA Repair Station, this position performs a variety of machining tasks from repair machining to tooling needed for production use.

Read and understand routing instructions are critical to ensure product safety. The ideal candidate enjoys problem solving, working in a fast-paced environment and self-directed.Key Position Responsibilities:Acts proactively supporting safety at all times. Safety is ALWAYS firstPosition is up tempo and very detail orientedUse machining skills and equipment to produce tooling and fixtures for production use.Use inspection tools / gages to ensure production tools and parts meet drawing requirements / production needs.Ensure machine PM are complete and equipment is in good working order for safe operationBead blast product as requiredIn process visual inspection to a check fixtureAbility to recognize and solve practical problems or issuesAbility to adapt, communicate, be decisive, be dependable, and take initiative.Ability to communicate and interact with coworkersEnsure hazardous materials are properly labeled, stored, and handled for proper disposal.Polishing and basic blending of productEnsures products adhere to quality standardsAs required, performs work assignments as directed.Cold Work metal tubes, ducts, and manifolds to conform to check fixtures.Build inspection fixtures under the guidance of a Level III Bench Mechanic.Required qualification / Education / and/or Experience:High school diploma, GED or equivalentExperience working with thin-walled material to (grind in square/angles, remove dents, prep for welding, forming/bending)3 years' experience working with hand tools3 years' of recent experience working with manual mills and lathes with Acu-Rite mill power CNC RetrofitMust be able to read engineering blueprints and approved technical dataKnowledge of tooling speeds and feeds, offsetsAbility to write and prove out programs for Acu-Rite CNC mill retrofitAbility to setup and operate manual mills and lathesAttendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of this positionAbility to organize priorities, daily tasks and complete actions on time, in a fast-paced environment.Strong work ethic and leadership abilityMust be able to show proof of legally ability to work in United StatesMust be able to read, write and speak EnglishMust be able to pass FAA drug screen and background checkPhysical Demands:Light to moderate physical effort required.Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, and move about the facilityPreferred Qualifications:Aerospace / Defense industry experience a plusFAA A&P certificate is a strong plusExperience working in a manufacturing facilityExperience working with hand toolsTravel – 0%Reporting to this Position:NoneRelationships:Reports to Operation's SupervisorDaily interaction with all levels within RBC Bearings and customersWe offer competitive compensation and excellent benefits including Medical, Dental, and company matched 401k plan.RBC Bearings is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/V/H
