Machinist I
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
As a Machinist I, you'll play a key role in manufacturing, modifying, repairing, and finishing mechanical components to exact specifications and tolerances.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate machine shop equipment, including:
- Lathes
- Milling machines
- Drill presses
- Grinders
- Saws
- Other machining equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, sketches, specifications, and work orders.
- Select the appropriate tooling, fixtures, cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining methods for each project.
- Perform machining operations including:
- Turning
- Milling
- Drilling
- Boring
- Grinding
- Threading
- Measure and inspect parts using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and indicators.
- Make machine and tooling adjustments to maintain required dimensions and tolerances.
- Identify machining defects and take corrective action following established procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Previous machining experience or completion of a machining-related technical training program
Working knowledge of:
- Machine shop practices, Materials and tooling, Precision measurement techniques
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints
