Machinist Horizontal LatheSchedule: 2nd shiftAir-conditioned modern shop located in Northwest Houston & room for advancement for the right individualPosition Overview:This position is responsible for setting up and operating conventional, special purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts by performing the following duties.Job Responsibilities:Experience on CNC lathe or millInstall chuck jaws and or fixtures on machineSet-Up CNC Machines using edge finder or probe to locate program zeroRead in and adjust program speeds, feeds, depth of cuts as requiredMachine part to drawingMeasure part, complete inspection report and adjust offsetsMay perform any other work-related functions as deemed necessary and appropriate by immediate supervisorCore Qualifications:High School Diploma or GEDAt least 3 years' experience on CNC Machines or Manual MachinesMust be able to read and understand G-Codes and M-Codes using Fanuc controls.Able to perform jobs duties with or without reasonable accommodationsExperience is machining valve components a plusAble to perform these jobs duties with or without reasonable accommodationsOther:Must be able to machine exotic machine materials such as Titanium and InconelAbility to read blueprints and specifications and produce precision work.Ability to work in a team-oriented environment that is fast paced and demandingMust be self-directed, have excellent initiative and organizational skillsExhibits a strong ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive and energyWorks well meeting multiple deadlines with the ability to deliver on timeTraining program for manual machinist to learn CNC Machines
