If you're flexible, detail-oriented, and ready to put your machining skills to work, we'd love to have you on board!The equipment and skills are divided into four different categories: Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, and Group 4.Group 1 Equipment: Manual Lathe - Vertical, Manual Lathe – Horizontal, Manual Mill – Vertical, Manual Boring Mill - HorizontalGroup 2 Equipment: CNC Lathe, CNC MillGroup 3 Skills: Surface Grinder, Drill Press, BalancingGroup 4 Skills: Spray Welding, Line BoringThere are four levels of Machinist:Machinist I – Entry Level to Proficient in operating 1 piece from Group 1 or Group 2 EquipmentMachinist II – Advanced ability to operate (2) pieces of Group 1 Equipment or Group 2 EquipmentMachinist III – Advanced ability to operate all Group 1 Equipment, advanced ability to operate at least (1) piece from Group 2 Equipment, and be proficient in Group 3 SkillsMachinist IV - Advanced ability to operate all Group 1 Equipment, all Group 2 Equipment, and be proficient in Group 3 and Group 4 skills.What You'll DoSafely and efficiently operate assigned equipmentRead, understand, and accurately execute work orders and quality assurance (QA) standards per job requirementsFacilitate setups and changeovers within machine capacitiesSecure work pieces and operate stops and guides for proper alignmentMonitor machine functions during operation to ensure accurate output within tolerance requirementsPerform quality checks during production to ensure part/piece meets tolerance requirementsWorking ConditionsSit, talk, hear, read, and writeWalk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and armsStand for extended periods of timeLift and/or move up to 50 poundsPerform duties indoors in a shop setting with occasional work outdoors in a variety of weather conditionsWhat You'll BringPrevious relevant machining experience preferredAbility to follow verbal and written instructionsMust possess excellent math skills including adding, subtracting, decimals and fractionsAbility to use measuring devices such as tape measures, squares, protractors, compasses, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, verniers, etc.Possess working knowledge of basic blueprints and drawingsAbility to operate a variety of shop metal working equipment preferredKnowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in an industrial shop settingPossess knowledge of metal plate types (steel, aluminum, stainless, galvanized, etc.), sizes, and shapes (beams, channels, angles, pipe, flat bar, etc.) preferredAdditional Eligibility QualificationsThis position requires the completion of a thorough background and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
