The individual sets up and operates a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments out of metal, including precision instrument makers who fabricate, modify, or repair mechanical instruments. This individual may also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. Will complete 8,000 hour training program focused on achieving a Journeyman Machinist status.This Position RequiresHigh school diploma or GEDNIMS level I credentials or equivalent basic machining knowledgeMust be self-motivated and work well in a team environmentWillingness to learnAdditional ExperienceNIMS level II is a plusTechnical Associates Degree highly preferredThis position requires a first shift work schedule.Hydromat's workplace is climate controlled through all weather seasons.
