Machinist 1st Shift - Chattanooga, TN / Plant 1Location: US Gestamp Chattanooga, USRole Summary: Responsible for operating machine tools to produce precision metal parts. Produces small batches or large quantities of metal parts. Ensure products meet precise specifications.Key Responsibilities:Work from blueprints, sketches or computer-aided design (CAD), and computer-aided manufacturing (GibbsCAM) files.Set up, operate, and disassemble manual, automatic, and computer-numeric controlled (CNC) machine tools, and computer-aided machine.Align, secure, and adjust cutting tools and work piecesMonitor the feed and speed of machinesTurn, mill, drill, shape, and grind machine parts to specificationsUse both manual and computer-controlled machineryMeasure, examine, and test completed products for defectsSmooth the surfaces of parts or productsPresent finished work pieces to customers and makes modifications if neededOperator crane and forklift. Any other duties as deemed necessary or appropriateKnowledge and Education: High school diploma/GED required with technical schooling preferred. At least 1 year machinist job-related experience.

Experience using lathes, milling machines, and grinders, ideally within a metal stamping facility Can demonstrate AutoCAD, GibbsCam programming experience.Key Qualifications/Requirements: Ability to work under pressure to meet tight timelines.
