Machining Tech I- 2nd ShiftHowmet Fastening Systems is seeking a Machining Tech I- 2nd Shift in our Fullerton, CA location. Our products are also critical components of industrial gas turbines, automobiles, commercial transportation vehicles, and construction and industrial equipment.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesLearns the set up and operation of any new machines added to the departments to which assignedChecks parts with standard gauges or precision measuring instruments and submits parts for inspection as requiredOperates machines to ensure proper functioning and releases to and instructs operator in procedures for producing parts in conformance with specificationsReads blueprints and has knowledge to use micrometers, calipers, comparators, thread gauges, depth micrometers and dial indicators as needed.SPC Charting as requiredKeeps work area clean, safe, and in an orderly fashion on a daily basisPerforms other tasks as requiredKnowledge and Skills:1-2 suggested years of total experiencePerform entry level set-upsUnderstand the speeds and feeds pertaining to the machine they are operating (where applicable)Knowledge of all measuring instruments and gages for their operationSpeak effectively before groups of customersRead and interpret blueprintsCertified in lock out/tag outWorking knowledge in manufacturing and quality processes and principlesQualificationsBasic QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferredMinimum 1 year of experience as a machinist or assembly workEmployees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
