It's our talent that helps make Merchants Metals the first name in fence solutions.Position SummaryWe currently have openings in the operations department for the following positions: (Shifts hours are from 5 pm -5 am)Identify different wire sizes using a micrometerStop/Start line when needed using the control panel.Butt weld rod at payoff.Removes finished wire stands off of dead block when completed.Measure the diameter and determine whether the material meets the specification.Adds lubricant when needed.Keep the area in good housekeeping condition.Performs changeoversUnderstands correct die lineups per gaugeOperates equipment at target speeds.Troubleshoots quality issues as they occur.Demonstrates good EHS practice.Essential Job Functions, Duties, and ResponsibilitiesWear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as requiredFollow established safety procedures when performing tasks and/or working with equipment.Read work instructions and set up machines as required to run different product sizes.Stand or walk for the entire shift and use arms and back to perform the tasks associated with the role.Must be able to work overtime as required with Saturday availability.Necessary Skills, Background & CompetenciesMinimum one year of work experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.Must be able to work in a team-based, positive, fast-paced environment.Must be able to understand written instructions and follow procedures.Must be able and willing to work 5 PM-5 AM MON-SAT.
