Stop machine and correct/notify quality if batch check is found to be out of specification and properly dispose of any bad product if anyPerform Documented SPC Checks: At established intervals ensure documented quality checks are completed and recorded in quality system. This can be done while tending responsibilities are relieved by another operator / material handler / quality personnel or completed by one of those associatesUse teamwork for efficient and continual production: Work with other operators / material handlers / quality personnel to relieve tending operations for breaks, quality checks, material handling etcComplete labor and quantities reporting in ERP system: Use ERP system to navigate and determine current /future jobs on machines.

Clock in and out of labor system to record start and ending information as well as quantities completed. Print required product identification and put in completed tubs and move product to the correct locationComplete Daily Shift Requirements: Complete tasks assigned per Daily Shift Requirement work instruction for proper daily maintenance and machine upkeepComplete required communication logs: Fill out required documentation to share all information that future shifts may need to know for better future operationsUtilize Redzone: Code downtime appropriately, enter accurate production information, maintain training status with learning and skills, use the line log to communicate notes for each machineComplete necessary material handling for self and others: In the absence of, and in addition to, the material handler each operator is responsible for obtaining, staging, loading, and moving all needed coils and tubs for a continuous operationTraining: Continue to train and learn working towards Operator 2 status. Help boost lower-level associates' knowledge by educating them on the various aspects of our cold forming processesMachine Changeover and Troubleshooting ResponsibilitiesPerform basic machine diagnostics to troubleshoot machine stoppage for immediate repair: When machine stops operating find root cause, repair and return machine to operations in accordance with operator's skill levelPerform general maintenance to working areas to ensure machine uptime: Tighten, repair, or replace machine components when found to be worn out.

This can be done by listening for unusual sounds, observing malfunctions, and reviewing machine during downtimes and cleaning periodsReport maintenance issues found: Notify higher level operators, managers, or maintenance immediately of machine issues beyond operator's skill setComplete tooling repair / replacement: Replace broken or worn tooling identified through visual/batch/SPC checks as efficiently as possible to return machine to normal operations. Notify higher level operators or managers immediately of issues that need to be addressed beyond the operator's skill setEnsure 1st Piece Approvals are completed: Complete portion of checks required and ensure quality completion of the 1st piece prior to continual operations and resuming machine tending responsibilitiesPosition Requirements:Experience: Previous manufacturing experience preferredEducation: High school diploma or GED requiredRequired Skills/Competencies:Positive attitude, good communication skills and ability to promote teamworkAbility to read blueprints and gauging instruments (calipers/micrometers)Competent in basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, simple, geometry)Ability to anticipate actions needed and quickly adapt to changeShows basic mechanical aptitudeGeneral computer skillsGood work history and extremely good attendance – dependableGood hand-eye coordinationAbility to obtain forklift certificationCleanliness and detail orientedGood safety practicesPhysical Requirements: Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
