Machine OperatorThis role operates surface mount technology (SMT) equipment on a swing shift to produce high-quality electronic assemblies. You will set up, run, and monitor SMT machinery while following detailed work instructions and strict quality and safety standards. Comprehensive training is provided, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals who are mechanically inclined and eager to build a career in electronics manufacturing.ResponsibilitiesOperate SMT equipment including Juki Pick & Place machines, reflow ovens, automated optical inspection (AOI) systems, and wash machines in accordance with established procedures.Set up and tear down SMT machines following detailed work instructions and setup documentation.Load feeders with electronic components according to setup sheets and verify that components match production documentation.Position printed circuit boards (PCBs) on machine fixtures and monitor machine operation throughout the production run.Make minor machine adjustments and clear machine jams safely and efficiently to maintain production flow.Perform visual inspection of assembled boards to identify and correct quality issues.Complete production records, batch logs, and other documentation accurately and in a timely manner.Follow all safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe work environment.Collaborate with team members and support continuous improvement efforts on the production line.Maintain a clean and organized work area in line with lean manufacturing principles.Essential SkillsNo prior SMT or electronics manufacturing experience required; comprehensive on-the-job training is provided.High school diploma or GED preferred.Manufacturing, production, or assembly experience is beneficial, especially in a production line environment.Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with production equipment and hand tools.Ability to stand during the majority of the shift and perform repetitive tasks safely and accurately.Strong vision and hand-eye coordination for precise placement and inspection of electronic components.Ability to follow detailed written instructions and production documentation.Basic computer skills for operating equipment interfaces and completing electronic records.Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different tasks as production needs change.Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors.Reliable attendance and punctuality.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in electronic assembly or working with electronic components is a plus.Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts and organized production environments is advantageous.Comfort working with hand tools and small components in a manufacturing setting.Interest in developing a long-term career in electronics design and manufacturing.Why Work Here?The company invests in employees for the long term, offering clear opportunities for internal growth and promotion.
