Machine Operator Job Description
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Machine Operator to join our production team in Johnston, RI. This position offers hands-on training in machine operation, production, and quality inspection. The ideal candidate will have mechanical aptitude, a strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow within a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities
* Set up and operate cold heading press machinery according to production requirements.
* Ensure materials are available and properly prepared for production.
* Make basic mechanical adjustments to ensure parts meet required specifications.
* Monitor machinery and production processes to maintain quality and efficiency.
* Inspect finished parts using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
* Assist shop technicians and the materials clerk as needed.
* Identify and report equipment issues, defective products, or production concerns.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
* Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
* Perform additional production duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn machine operation.
* Ability to use basic hand tools and measuring equipment, or willingness to be trained.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or work throughout an 8-hour shift.
* Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
* Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and take initiative.
* Commitment to workplace safety, organization, and reliability.
* Previous manufacturing or machine operating experience is a plus but not required.
