Metal Machine OperatorThis role focuses on setting up, troubleshooting, and operating single station presses and press brakes to produce precision sheet metal components. The Metal Forming Setup Technician ensures accurate machine setup, maintains high-quality standards through careful inspection, and supports ongoing production in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.ResponsibilitiesPerform complete setups on single station presses and press brakes for a variety of sheet metal fabrication jobs.Install, align, and adjust tooling and dies to support efficient and accurate production runs.Operate mechanical and hydraulic presses to form sheet metal components to required specifications.Carry out metal forming and sheet metal fabrication processes while maintaining tight tolerances.Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and engineering drawings to determine setup requirements and production steps.Conduct first article inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges to verify initial part quality.Perform ongoing quality inspections throughout production to ensure parts meet dimensional and quality standards.Troubleshoot tooling, forming, and machine issues to minimize downtime and maintain consistent output.Make necessary machine adjustments during production runs to maintain part quality and process stability.Support production personnel by resolving manufacturing issues and optimizing setups for efficiency.Collaborate closely with engineering, tooling, and production teams to improve processes and address technical challenges.Apply lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste, improve workflow, and enhance productivity.Perform preventative maintenance on presses, press brakes, and related equipment, and promptly report any equipment issues.Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area in accordance with company safety and housekeeping standards.Essential SkillsProven experience setting up and operating single station presses and press brakes in a manufacturing environment.Strong proficiency in metal forming and sheet metal fabrication processes.Hands-on experience with mechanical and hydraulic presses.Ability to perform tool and die setups, including installation, alignment, and adjustment for production runs.Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints, work orders, and engineering drawings.Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges for first article and in-process inspections.Demonstrated capability in manufacturing troubleshooting, particularly with tooling and forming issues.Experience performing quality inspections and maintaining consistent part quality throughout production.Ability to support production activities in a fast-paced environment while meeting quality and output targets.Commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work area and following established safety procedures.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with progressive forming processes is preferred.Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement practices.Comfort working closely with engineering, tooling, and production personnel to resolve issues and enhance processes.Ability to perform preventative maintenance and accurately report equipment conditions or concerns.Experience in machine operation, press brake operation, and machine setup for sheet metal applications.Why Work Here?You will join a manufacturing environment that values precision, safety, and continuous improvement. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and adherence to lean manufacturing practices, with an expectation of maintaining a clean and orderly work area throughout each shift.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tampa, FL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
