Machine Operator - Sortation - Hiring Immediately - Connersville, INThe Machine Operator – Sortation is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of automated sortation equipment used in the processing and recovery of recyclable materials. This role monitors equipment performance, adjusts machine settings to optimize material flow and sorting efficiency, troubleshoots operational issues, and supports production goals. The Machine Operator maintains a clean and safe work environment, performs routine inspections, and works closely with maintenance and operations teams to ensure equipment reliability and product quality.Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:Operate and monitor sortation equipment, including conveyors, optical sorters, shredders, metal separators, and screening systems.Adjust machine settings and operating parameters to maximize efficiency, throughput, and material quality.Follow production schedules and maintain consistent material flow throughout the process.Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to minimize downtime and maintain performance standards.Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs through established procedures.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.Comply with all safety policies, procedures, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.Work collaboratively with operations and maintenance teams to support production goals and continuous improvement efforts.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalent.Eligible to work in the United States.Six months to four (4) years of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, recycling, distribution, or industrial environment preferred.Experience in operating sortation, material handling, or other automated processing equipment preferred.Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screen.Ability to work a 12-hour shift.Ability to work overtime as required.Ability to follow safety policies, procedures, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation.Physical Requirements:Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.Push, pull, twist, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb as necessary.Reach, grasp, and perform repetitive motions.Work in manufacturing and recycling environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, dust, vibration, and moving equipment.Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safely work around industrial machinery and automated processing systemsCompany BenefitsBenefitsWith safety as our top priority and a commitment to employee well-being an important focus, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits that include medical, dental and vision insurance as well as a variety of other well-being resources focused on mental, physical and financial health.
