Machine Operator - SlittingThe Slitting Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring slitting equipment used to cut large rolls of material into specific widths. This role ensures product quality, accurate measurements, safe machine operation, and efficient production flow in a manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate slitting machines according to work orders and specificationsLoad and unload large rolls of material using appropriate handling equipmentAdjust machine settings such as blade alignment, tension, and speedMonitor production during operation to ensure accuracy and quality standardsInspect finished rolls for defects, correct dimensions, and overall qualityMeasure materials using standard measuring toolsRecord production data, scrap, and quality checksLabel, package, and prepare finished rolls for the next stage or shipmentMaintain a clean and safe work area following all safety proceduresPerform basic machine cleaning and routine upkeepRequired Skills / QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferredPrior manufacturing or machine operation experience preferredAbility to read work instructions and follow production ordersBasic math and measurement skillsStrong attention to detail and safety awarenessAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
