Machine Operator (Machine Shop)Location: 7736 E. Springfield Ave., Selma, CA 93662 Hours: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Position: Hourly $18.50 Per Hour Payroll: Bi-Weekly Opened Until FilledJob SummaryResponsible for setting up and operating various machine tools to metallic and nonmetallic work pieces while providing support to the production team.Responsibilities and DutiesReads and studies blueprints, work orders and plans for product specificationSelects, positions and secures tools in holderSet specific feeds, speeds and depth of cutsControl valves to direct flow of coolant or cutting oil against tools/work piecesObserves proper machine operationPerforms daily machine maintenanceDocuments actions by completing production and quality logs.Clean and maintain the work area and equipment, including tools.Performs routine inspections of completed piecesMaintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulationsQualifications and SkillsHigh School Diploma or equivalentExperience in a manufacturing environment is preferred and 1-2 years Machine Operator experienceAbility to work in a fast pace environmentTeam-oriented with strong communication skills.Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with others to work as a team.Must have the ability to perform accurate measurements and basic arithmetic.Must be able to use a measuring tape, caliper and other measuring tools.Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Attention to detailPhysical RequirementsThis position requires the ability to stand for extended periods and perform lifting, twisting, and bending.Standing: Frequent to continuousSitting: Occasional to frequentWalking: Occasional to frequentBending/Stooping/Squatting/Kneeling: Occasional to frequentLifting and Carrying: Up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basisWorking Conditions:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes and airborne particles.

The employee operates in a loud noise level environment.
