Machine OperatorThis Machine Operator position supports a steel fabrication operation by setting up and operating production equipment to produce accurate metal components. You will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ensuring that all products meet safety, quality, and efficiency standards while contributing to a clean, organized, and safe workplace.ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate fabrication equipment such as band saws, ironworkers, and CNC machines to produce steel components according to specifications.Read and interpret measurements, blueprints, and work orders to ensure accurate production of parts.Accurately measure materials using a tape measure to within 1/16 of an inch to maintain precise dimensions.Load and unload raw materials and finished parts safely and efficiently to keep production flowing.Monitor machine performance during operation and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.Inspect parts for quality and specification compliance, identifying and addressing any defects or deviations.Perform basic machine maintenance and keep equipment in good working condition to minimize downtime.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following housekeeping standards throughout the shift.Follow all safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements to ensure a safe working environment.Work independently while following instructions and production priorities to meet daily output goals.Essential SkillsAbility to read and use a tape measure accurately to within 1/16 of an inch.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, measurements, and work orders.Basic mechanical aptitude to operate and adjust fabrication machinery.Demonstrated strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.Previous experience with fabrication or machine operation (preferred but not strictly required).Ability to lift materials and perform tasks in a physical, hands-on environment.Ability to work independently and follow written and verbal instructions.Comfort working in a fast-paced steel fabrication or manufacturing environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience operating fabrication equipment such as band saws, ironworkers, and CNC machines.Background in steel fabrication or metalworking environments.Exposure to or experience with flux core welding and MIG welding.Ability to interpret and work from detailed blueprints and fabrication drawings.Familiarity with maintaining and performing basic troubleshooting on production machinery.Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.You will join a growing organization that invests in long-term talent and offers opportunities for permanent employment and internal promotion. You will work around heavy equipment in an environment with exposure to heat, noise, dust, and other typical shop conditions. The position requires standing for most of the shift, frequent lifting, and repetitive motions. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times, and you will work with tools and machinery such as band saws, ironworkers, CNC machines, and welding-related equipment in a structured, safety-focused production setting.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Pilot Point, TX.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
