They are also responsible for the set-up, operation and maintenance of machinery that forms metal strip into hose of various diameters, thicknesses and construction.
May also be responsible for processing orders on the floor through various stages which may include prepping, testing, finishing, shipping and or receiving.This position is considered safety sensitive. A safety sensitive position refers to a job in which the employee, holding this position, is responsible for his/her own safety or other people's safety.Primary Job ResponsibilitiesAbility to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assignedAbility to read and understand work instructions, sales orders, floor travelers and/or printsAdheres to standards of quality and accuracy utilizing prints and other standards for inspectionUtilize kiosk (computer) to find and follow standard work proceduresMust be able to understand how to use tape measure, PI tape, calipers and micrometersLoads heavy metal strip coils onto machinery using forklift or other equipmentSet up and operate machinery that forms metal strips into hoseCutting hose to length, spot welding and finishing hose per order requirementsPrepping hoses utilizing cutting equipment, crimpers and other hand toolsTesting assemblies utilizing air, water, gas and Helium Mass Spec equipmentFinishing assemblies utilizing buffing, grinding, polishing, covering, tagging, painting and/or packaging assemblies per standardsPerform Housekeeping in and around facility to maintain a clean and safe work environmentUse Forklift/Tow Motor to move shipments and material, load and unload stock trucks and machines, and/or change gas tanks.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentAbility to understand and follow English instructionsAbility to read and understand detailed work instructions and production documentationMust be able to read a tape measure, learn to use micrometers and PI tapeGood math skills a must; mechanically inclinedAbility to operate a lift truck.CompetenciesCommunication - Interpersonal skills – team workSafety consciousValues, trust and integrityContinuous learningCustomer Focus (finding ways to say YES to the customer)Quality drivenPhysical RequirementsMust be able to lift 50 poundsLifting, rolling, stretching and handling metalMust be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per weekAbility to use hand and power toolsAbility to stand and work on your feet 100% of the dayHose Master is committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
