Machine Operator

Job TitleResponsibilities: Produces parts to customer specifications:Understands piece part drawings, measuring parts using the proper inspection equipmentInspection of raw materials entering data, filling out inspection sheets, adjustment sheets, production sheets, inventory sheetsMakes adjustments to tooling to keep parts in specificationEnsures proper labeling, packaging, and palletizing of partsProduces parts by:Loading coilsSetting machine to specificationsOperating machineUtilizes lift truck or overhead crane to load and remove coils:Clean coilsInspects coils for defectsMaintains continuous operation of machines by performing maintenance on machines as required:Oils and lubricates machines as necessaryMaintains specifications by:Observing operationDetecting malfunctionsInspecting parts for defects/flawsMeasures size of holes, thickness, and flatness of material byUsing micrometerFlatness indicatorMicroscopeHole size gaugesAdjust machines as necessary to keep parts within specificationsMaintains clean parts by:Monitoring levels of fluids in degreaser and stillAdds fluids to degreaser when necessaryChange fluids in degreaser and still as neededObserves vapor levels to make sure they remain at a safe levelEnsures safety of self and fellow employees by:Following safety procedures when handling chemicalsUtilizes protective clothing, glasses, ear protection, and respirators as requiredObserves the lock out/tag out procedure when making adjustments and repairs to machinesMaintains a clean and safe work environment by emptying scrap bin when it is full:Emptying waste oil machineCleaning oil and scraps from floor and work areaRequirements:Responsible for supervision of Packers:Arrange breaksMonitors work to see they are performing properlyKeeping their work area cleanKeeping their supplies fullFollows company policies and applicable safety procedures:Willingly takes on new tasks:Flexible to changes in priorities and schedulingSeeks out work or requests work from supervisor when work is slowWilling to help other employeesMaintain satisfactory attendance and punctualityPacks parts when necessary, or when work is slowTrains new Packers:Assists with the training of machine operatorsAssists toolmakers as requiredPerforms other functions as requiredSpecific Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications, etc.:Good math skills, mechanical ability, basic reading and writing.Able to read, write, and speak EnglishMetal stamping or other production related backgroundWhen applicable, may supervise several packers during a shiftEducation:Minimum two years High SchoolWe offer attractive, competitive compensation and benefits including, medical, dental, 401k, short-term disability, AD&D, tuition reimbursement, and more.
