Machine Operator - Parts DepartmentAvalon and Tahoe - Alma, MI 48901OverviewSalary Range $16.50 Hourly Level Experienced Position Type Full Time Job Shift Day Education Level High School Travel Percentage None Category ManufacturingDescriptionJob Summary: The metal shop machine operator and fabricator utilizes several different industrial machines to fabricate various parts. This person may use several different machines throughout the day. The metal shop supports several other departments, including tube fabrication, wall fabrication, furniture fabrication, and the assembly line.Key ResponsibilitiesAdheres to all safety policies and proceduresFollows all pre-established installation and quality methods, procedures and guidelines to ensure consistency of workReads order-specific job travelers and/or engineered drawings to ensure each order is produced to specificationsUses various industrial machines, such as shear, press, roller, etc.

to fabricate metal partsCompletes all job duties within given time constraintsPerforms other duties as assignedCross-trains between several different jobsCleans and maintains work areaPursues continuous improvement to improve efficiency of job duties and work flowQualificationsJob Requirements:High school diploma or GEDAttention to detailExcellent problem solving skillsGood verbal and written communication skillsNeeds good visual judgment to notice errors and/or defectsAbility to accurately read a tape measureAbility to follow verbal and written instructionsAbility to work in a fast paced, multifunctional team oriented work environmentAbility to work variable hours with short notice (up to 50+ hrs. per week)Physical Requirements and Environment:Must be physically capable of safely lifting a minimum of 50 lbs. without assistance, some items are large and/or awkward and up to 200 lbs.
