Machine Operator – CNC LaserThis role focuses on the setup, operation, and routine maintenance of a CNC laser machine used in metal fabrication. You will ensure parts are produced to exact specifications with zero defects by correctly configuring equipment, following fabrication processes, and verifying quality with precision measuring tools and blueprints.ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate CNC laser machines for metal fabrication in accordance with established procedures and safety standards.Retrieve and run CNC programs, ensuring proper selection and use of gases, nozzles, lenses, and other machine parameters for each job.Apply a solid understanding of metal fabrication processes and concepts to produce accurate, high-quality parts.Perform routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs on CNC laser equipment to keep machines running efficiently.Set up metal fabrication machinery and related production equipment to consistently produce zero-defect parts.Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to meet dimensional and quality requirements.Use precision measuring tools and direct-read measuring devices to verify part accuracy and conformance to specifications.Accurately complete work orders, documenting correct quantities of good and defective parts and any relevant production notes.Properly document all required paperwork, including production records, quality checks, and maintenance activities.Collaborate with team members in manufacturing, engineering, and fabrication operations to support efficient workflow and continuous improvement.Essential SkillsAbility to set up and operate CNC laser machines for metal fabrication.Hands-on experience with CNC laser operation, including program retrieval and configuration of gases, nozzles, and lenses.Knowledge and understanding of metal fabrication processes and concepts.Ability to use direct-read measuring devices to verify part dimensions and quality.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and use precision measuring tools accurately.Capability to perform routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs on CNC laser equipment.Skill in accurately completing work orders and documenting quantities of good and defective parts.Ability to properly document required paperwork and production records.At least 6 months of experience in metal manufacturing or machine operation.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience in manufacturing engineering is preferred.Fabrication management and/or operations of low and mid-sized volume metal fabrication is preferred.Experience with laser operation and general machine operating in a metal fabrication environment is an advantage.Why Work Here?Employees receive comprehensive medical and dental coverage with 100% of insurance premiums paid for both themselves and eligible family members, resulting in no paycheck deductions for these premiums. The work environment has a moderate noise level typical of a well-maintained fabrication shop. Two shifts are available: a first shift running Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and a second shift running Monday through Thursday from 2:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. You will work around CNC laser equipment and metal fabrication machinery in a structured, safety-conscious setting.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Papillion, NE.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
