Job Title: Machine Operator
Department: Manufacturing
Reports To: Manufacturing Supervisor
Position Summary
The Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining manufacturing equipment to ensure efficient production and high-quality output. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Set up and operate production machinery according to established procedures and specifications
* Monitor equipment during operation to ensure proper functioning and detect any issues
* Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on machines
* Adjust machine settings to maintain product quality and efficiency
* Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications
* Record production data, including quantities, downtime, and defects
* Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work area
* Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report major problems to maintenance or supervision
* Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet production goals
Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent required
* Previous experience in a manufacturing or machine operation role preferred
* Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
* Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, or specifications
* Strong attention to detail and quality
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Good Attendance required
Physical Requirements
* Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods
* Ability to lift up to 25-50 pounds as needed
* Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
* Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels
Work Environment
* Fast-paced manufacturing setting
* Exposure to moving machinery, loud noise, and industrial materials
* Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Schedule
* Full-time; may include overtime and weekends, depending on production needs.
* Shifts:
* * * 1st Shift: M-F, 7a-3:30p
* 2nd Shift: M-F, 3:30p-12a (includes $1/hour Shift Differential)
* 3rd Shift: Su-Th, 10:30p-7a (includes $2/hour Shift Differential)
