Nucor supports its teammates with top-tier benefits like Medical, Dental, Vision, and Disability Insurance, 401K and Roth accounts, Profit sharing, Pay-for-performance bonuses, Paid parental leave, Tuition reimbursement, Stock program, Scholarships and more.Basic Job Functions: Responsibilities for the Machine Operator include but are not limited to:Perform the startup and shutdown procedures for the assigned production line area.Perform changeovers quickly, efficiently and safelyPerform all of the following tasks: milling, turning, drilling, taping, de-burring, molding and all bench operations, as well as the inspection of themPerform basic preventative maintenance dutiesReport any malfunctions or abnormalities with equipment to the maintenance teamComplete reports and answer questions, as requested or assignedAccurately record all material usage and reconcile that usage at the end of each shiftComplete data entry using excel spreadsheetsMaintain cleanliness of the assigned production line areaComply with all company policies and proceduresPerform all other duties, as assignedThis role requires a transition to night-shift once the initial training period on day-shift ends. The length of the training period is undetermined and at the company's discretion.Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.Minimum Qualifications:Excellent attendance and safety recordKnowledge of basic machine functionsKnowledge of Microsoft products, specifically ExcelPreferred Qualifications:1 year experience in a production environmentOpen communicationUnderstanding of machine setup and tear downOverhead crane experienceBasic understanding of automationMachine and process troubleshootingNucor is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a drug-free workplaceNearest Major Market: Fort Wayne
