* Inspect components using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other inspection tools to verify product quality.
* Verify product quality and ensure compliance with aerospace manufacturing standards and blueprint specifications.
* Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work instructions, process sheets, and other technical documentation.
* Perform routine operations including deburring, cleaning parts, gauging parts, and making minor offset changes with oversight when required.
* Frequently utilize measuring devices and assess product acceptance based on blueprint and process specifications.
* Clock labor and production activities in Solumina or similar systems, and accurately document information on check sheets and run charts.
* Perform preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and document results according to established procedures.
* Complete Daily Walk Around (DWA) checks and use communication logs to share status, issues, and handoffs between shifts.
* Keep the work area and equipment clean and organized while maintaining acceptable quality levels and supporting 5S practices.
* Move frequently along the machine line (approximately 90% of the time) to operate various manufacturing equipment within the work loop.
* Transport product and/or equipment weighing up to 10 pounds as part of normal production activities.
* Run all equipment in the assigned work loop and consistently produce product at the required rate per standard work.
* Carry out additional tasks within the scope and skill level of the position to support department objectives and develop skills.
* Adhere to ACE guidelines and perform CORE duties as required to support continuous improvement and operational excellence.
* Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) guidelines, including proper use of required personal protective equipment.
Essential Skills
* Proven experience operating EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) equipment in a production environment.
* Proven experience operating precision grinding machines in a manufacturing setting.
* Ability to make machine adjustments, including program edits and offset changes, from a controller interface.
* Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills for machining and production equipment.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, process sheets, and specifications.
* Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
* Experience performing machine setups, changeovers, and tool changes to support high-volume production.
* Ability to monitor and oversee multiple machines simultaneously while maintaining quality and throughput.
* Capability to maintain production rates while minimizing scrap and rework.
* Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-volume aerospace manufacturing environment with stringent quality standards.
* Ability to move frequently along a machine line and handle products or equipment up to 10 pounds.
* Commitment to following EH&S guidelines and consistently wearing required PPE, including safety glasses, steel-toed footwear, and hearing protection.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Experience working in aerospace manufacturing or other highly regulated industries with strict quality requirements.
* Familiarity with Solumina or similar manufacturing execution or labor tracking systems.
* Experience documenting inspection results on check sheets and maintaining dimensional data on run charts.
* Exposure to ACE (Achieving Competitive Excellence) or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
* Experience performing Daily Walk Around (DWA) checks and using communication logs for shift-to-shift handoffs.
* Ability to deburr and clean parts as part of the machining process.
* Comfort performing additional tasks within the roles skill level to support department goals and personal skill development.
* Willingness to work alternative weekend work (AWW) schedules as needed.
Why Work Here?
You will work in a clean, climate-controlled aerospace manufacturing environment that emphasizes safety, quality, and continuous improvement. The organization offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as critical illness, accident, and hospital benefits.
