Moulder Operator | ManufacturingSouthern Lumber & Millwork is hiring a full-time Moulder Operator to join our manufacturing team in Charleston, South Carolina. For more than 85 years, our family-owned and operated company has supplied builders, contractors, architects, and homeowners throughout Charleston and the Lowcountry with quality lumber, building materials, custom millwork, and moulding.Our Moulder Shop produces approximately six million linear feet of stock and custom moulding each year. As a Moulder Operator, you will work alongside an experienced team to run industrial moulding machines, produce custom and stock moulding profiles, and ensure every finished product meets our quality standards.What Does a Moulder Operator Do?In this position, you will:Set up, operate, and monitor industrial moulding machinesProduce custom and stock moulding profiles according to specificationsFeed lumber and other materials through moulding equipmentInspect finished moulding for accuracy, consistency, and qualityMeasure materials and confirm that finished profiles meet required dimensionsAssist with machine adjustments and changeovers between moulding profilesIdentify and communicate production or quality concernsWork closely with other Moulder Shop team members to meet production goalsHandle, stack, organize, and move raw materials and finished mouldingMaintain a clean, organized, and safe manufacturing environmentFollow all equipment operating procedures and workplace safety guidelinesWhat Are the Requirements?Applicants must:Be able to lift, carry, and move at least 50 pounds consistently throughout the workdayBe comfortable performing physical work while standing and moving for extended periodsBe able to work safely around industrial woodworking machineryFollow instructions and complete assigned work accuratelyCommunicate clearly and work effectively as part of a production teamMaintain attention to detail in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentBe dependable and arrive ready to work each dayPrevious experience operating moulding machines, woodworking equipment, manufacturing machinery, or production equipment is preferred.
