Machine Operator Lead

Machine Operator LeadWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Machine Operator Lead to join our team. This role involves operating and setting up cold heading and thread rolling machines on either the 1st Shift (7:00am-3:30pm) or 2nd Shift (3:30pm - 12:00am), Monday through Friday. The position offers opportunities for overtime and a competitive hourly rate, with a differential for the 2nd Shift.ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate cold heading and thread rolling machines with guidance from trainers or mentors.Work from detailed engineering drawings, process control documents, and work instructions to produce quality parts.Utilize precision measuring devices such as micrometers, dial calipers, optical comparators, and various gauges.Prepare dies for use in cold heading and thread rolling, troubleshoot machine malfunctions, replace worn tooling, and make necessary machine adjustments.Retrieve correct Job Packet(s) and access bill of materials from the shop floor computer.Install and remove tooling from machines using hand tools.Remove old wire stock and draw new coiled wire using an in-line wire drawer.Report faulty machine operations, defective materials, and other discrepancies to set-up persons or team leaders.Maintain proper machine oil levels and keep workplace area neat and orderly.Complete time, production, and quality reports as necessary.Communicate with operators from other shifts to exchange pertinent information.Observe all safety regulations and perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsMechanical and technical skills with prior manufacturing experience.Experience in machine operation, threading, and roll forming.Ability to read and understand engineering specifications.Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, comparators, gauges, and hand tools.Additional Skills & QualificationsBasic computer skills.Mechanical ability and familiarity with shop support equipment.Why Work Here?Join a supportive and dynamic work environment that offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision plans. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
