Machine Operator Lead

Production LeadLocation: Colorado Springs, COColorado Springs, Elkton - Night Shift 7pm - 7am (D Shift)Colorado Springs, Elkton - Day Shift 7am - 7pm (C Shift)Job Summary:The Production Lead must be comfortable directing operators in accordance with company policy and will report any violations to the Production Supervisor. While a strong candidate will exhibit qualities of a leader, they must also be able to perform all operator functions. This means they must be capable of operating a variety of automatic or semi-automatic manufacturing machines including robotic assembly equipment used in the production of the company's semiconductor products.Responsibilities:Daily Operations & Coordination (40%)Sets daily team goals in accord with processing demands; organizes staff to efficiently produce required weekly outputUnderstands tool utilization and maximization for greater outputUnderstands process flow and can identify needs and abundances; rearranges workforce and requests assistance as needed to resolveOversee daily passdown from previous shiftEquipment Operation & Hands-on Production (30%)Operate traditional fab equipment; wafer saw and grind equipmentFollow proper wafer handling guidelines; handle thin wailers and can correct Operators if guidelines are not being followedSetup and operate assigned production equipment striving to achieve goals for quality, efficiency and productivityPerform first level maintenanceQuality & Compliance (15%)Checks and inspects operation results against predetermined tolerancesUnderstand and identify defects in accordance with applicable workmanshipMust have a working knowledge of all OP's for audits and CAR'sTeam Development & Support (10%)Keeps a pulse on employee needs and personnel issues; intervenes and/or seeks HR/Operations Manager supportAssists with trainingEncourages sharing of best practices within the team; breaks down barriers to teamwork; resolves conflict effectivelyCross-functional Collaboration (5%)Interface with engineering, management, and maintenanceProactively establish and maintain effective working team relationships with all support departmentsBuild trust, value others, communicate effectively, and collaborate with othersMinimum Qualifications:1-3 years of machine operating experience preferredHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.Must be able to work compressed work shifts and have the ability to attend possible meetings/classes off shiftStanding for 12hour shiftLift up to 50 lbsDesired QualificationsGood mechanical aptitude, vision/finger dexterity and attention to detailAbility to read and comprehend component part markings and polarityAbility to interpret Engineering Documentation and work instructionsProfessional and positive communication skillsComprehensive Lean Manufacturing knowledge preferred.The intent of this job description is to describe the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this job.
