Machine Operator IIReporting into the Fabrication supervisor, as Machine Operator II, you will operate all fabricating machines, such as cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, laser, forming machines, spinning machines and punch machines that cut shape and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures.While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:Laser machine: Sets-up and operates machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelinesAdjusts machine settings to complete tasks according to specification, accurately and in a timely fashionPerforms minimal programming on machineCuts and inspects parts for accuracy, places correct stickers on parts and sortsAssists in performance of trouble shooting on machine when neededCorrectly interpret blueprints and engineering drawingsSafely and effectively use of hand tools, measuring tape, and machineryOperate an overhead craneDrive a forkliftPunching/ Brake machine: Interpret blueprints and engineering drawings correctlySets-up and operates machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelinesAdjusts machine settings to complete tasks according to specification, accurately and in a timely fashionAssists in performing trouble shooting on machine when neededSafely and effectively use hand tools, measuring tape, and machine equipmentPerforms part programming on machineInspects finished productsSharpens tools as neededWe each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:Required Experience & Skills3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment3-5 years experience operating fabricating machineryRead a tape measure and ruler and convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractionsPreferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities3-5 years' experience programming equipment (Laser or brake)Meet all product quality requirementsAbility to use precision hand toolsSpot weldingAttention to detailThe physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Regularly be required to push/pull material up to 3000lbs, with assistance of overhead crane.

Climb stairs, reach and bend regularly Occasionally sit, grasp, climb, crawl, twist, and work at heights. Occasionally lift, hold and/or move up to 50 pounds Manufacturing environment requires use of required Personal Protective Equipment, such as foot, eye and ear protection when in production locations
