Join our team and help deliver solutions that keep critical infrastructure running safely and efficiently.The Drill Press Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining drill press machinery to produce precision holes in metal components according to blueprints and specifications.

This role ensures parts meet required tolerances and quality standards while maintaining safe and efficient operation of equipment.ResponsibilitiesSelect proper drill bits, tooling, speeds, and feeds.Set up and operate manual, semi-automatic, or radial drill presses.Position and secure workpieces using clamps, vises, jigs, and fixtures.Drill, tap, ream, countersink, and bore holes to required dimensions.Inspect parts using calipers, gauges, and micrometers.Verify hole depth, diameter, location, and tolerances.Load/unload materials and prepare components for machining.Follow OSHA and company safety procedures; wear required PPE.Perform basic maintenance such as cleaning, lubrication, and replacing tooling.Complete production logs and communicate job status to supervisors.RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED required1+ years of drill press or machining experience preferred.Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.Knowledge of machining principles, speeds, feeds, and tooling.Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teamsAbility to follow instructions and work in a team environment.Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings and background checksStrong attention to detail, safety awareness, and teamwork.Physical RequirementsMust be able to stand for prolonged periods (8+ hours)Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. independentlyFrequent bending, stooping, reaching, and manual handling of materials requiredGood hand-eye coordination and manual dexterityAbility to tolerate noise, heat, and dust in a manufacturing environmentVisual acuity to read measuring tools, drawings, and detect quality defectsMust pass initial and ongoing physical or occupational health screenings (e.g., lifting assessment, vision test, hearing test, etc.)Must be able to wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.Work EnvironmentManufacturing floor with exposure to moving mechanical parts, sharp materials, and moderate to loud noise. May be exposed to hot or cold environments depending on season.

Work schedule may include overtime, weekend shifts, or on-call schedules as needed.
