Machine OperatorUnder immediate supervision, the Machine Operator will work under immediate supervision, operate specific machinery and perform more complex mechanical set-ups, including set up and operation of production lines. Acts as a group leader. Makes minor adjustments and verifies quality of own work.Operates any or all the following machines in accordance with standard work instructions:BoxersCodersConveyorsFilling MachinesWrappersCheckweighersMetal detectorsTurn on machines including boxers, coders, conveyors, wrappers, tanks, tracks, check weighers, and metal detectors.Verify proper mix in tanks and ensure all correct supplies are present including cases, trays, barrels, and tubsPerform setup, cleanup and operation of machines on designated lines according to the production schedule. Shut down machines. Make sure cardboard, barrels and supplies are hauled out.
Place machine covers in the proper places.Record all production performance, counts, downtime and other quality or production related information as required. Monitor for process abnormalities, taking quick action to correctMonitor production process including product weight, quality, texture, volume, and taste. Must also complete paperwork such as weight, temperature, code and flavor sheets. Responsible for correct documentation, providing signature to verify compliance with all the required quality specifications and procedure checks for the assigned area.Verify machine safety. Ensure all safety devices are fully operational and that safety procedures are being observed.
Perform minor troubleshooting and maintenance and/or repair work on equipment as needed. Assist technical operators on troubleshooting, maintenance, and preventative maintenance.Ensure product security through all production, packaging, and final packaging processes to safeguard against tampering, adulteration, or any other security occurrence. Must report any unusual activity to management immediately.Other duties may be assigned by your supervisor, as dictated by business necessity.Must be 18 years old.Previous production experience preferred.Quality-minded, conscientious and self-motivated.Effective communication skills.The base pay range for this position is $25.20 per hour, plus night shift premium of $1.25. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
